Hemp Bales Medium and Fine Grain

Hemp shiv is cleaned and cut ready for mixing with Hemp Binder. Our hemp can be mixed with hydraulic lime or quicklime binders  to create a lime plaster that has improved insulation properties over standard render. In these mixes hemp proves to be a highly efficient thermal conductor, a strong insulator against noise and still keeps the plaster breathable and vapour permeable. It is also light weight and doesn't add unwanted bulk to the wall, whilst still retaining its strength and also being crack resistant.

Our Medium hemp shiv is approx 20mm in size and the Fine shive is approximately 3mm. Mixes that have had hemp added to them will only last for 2 - 3 weeks as the hemp will start to perish over longer periods of time unless it has been applied.
