Beeck Beeckosil Silicate Paint
Beeck Beeckosil Silicate Paint
Beeck Beeckosil Silicate Paint
Description:
Beeckosil Fine is a Highly vapour permeable, hard wearing and ready to use exterior silicate paint. Designed to be applied to mineral backgrounds such as natural stone and lime/cement renders. Beeckosil is incredibly durable and has an Active Silicification Formula (ASF). Beeck are the only manufacturer in Germany allowed to use the tag ‘ASF’ for their one component mineral paints denoting their ‘Active Silicification Formula’.
While regular emulsions and acrylic based paints glue themselves to the surface; Active Silicification allows the paint to achieve a full chemical bond to the substrate, meaning that it is near impossible to remove.
Area of Use:
For External Use on to bare lime and most mineral backgrounds
Preparation:
The substrate must be clean, dry, firm and stable. Carefully repair chipped surfaces with the same type of material and texture.
Use in conjunction with:
- Etching Fluid then Fixative over new bare lime renders and existing lime wash.
- Quartz Filler for filling hairline cracks and then fixative.
- Fungicide for removing fungal deposits and then fixative.
- Fixative over old render, stone, brick and existing paint.
- Fixative and then Beeckosil Coarse to hide surface imperfections and hairline cracks.
- Beeckosil Coarse is an intermediary coat and levelling primer with a texture grain 0.4mm down which can be coloured the same as the Beeckosil fine.
Application:
Carefully cover surfaces which are not to be treated eg windows, window sills and protect them from paint splashes. Stir with a powered mixing paddle before use. Do not apply on hot surfaces or use in blazing sun. Minimum application temperature +8C. Drying time at least 12 hours per pass. Protect fresh coats from rain and blazing sun by use of hessian / scaffolding sheeting. Apply by brush, roller or air less spraying method. Cut in edges seamlessly and smoothly – wet on wet.
Thin primer coat with no more than 10% fixative, dependant upon substrate and method used. Leave 12 hours before applying topcoat unthinned or with max 5% fixative. Always paint wet on wet. First cut in and then paint the whole wall with a roller. Then for the second coat exactly the same cut in and then paint the whole wall with a roller.
Coverage:
0.12 L / m² per pass on a smooth substrate (10ltr covers approx. 50m2)
