St Astier Hourdex HL 5 - The Yield Lime

St Astier Hourdex HL 5 contains a small amount of cement and additives such as a water retainer and air entrainer that make it a superb binder for new build works. It is not a material that we would advocate for use in building conservation owing to the cement addition, it does however perform very well in many roles where cement mortars are not appropriate or where you require a binder with a lower carbon footprint.

Suitable Backrounds

Bedding and pointing mortars, stipple and base coats, limecrete, above the roof line, chimneys, lime screed, floor tiling. Before starting, always try on a small test area.
